Written by Beth Garrett
Located in the heart of Miami Beach's renowned Art Deco district, the Kent Hotel is just one block west of the cobalt blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Originally built in the 1930's by L. Murray Dixon who designed many of Miami's now famous Art Deco buildings, the Kent has in recent years been restored to all of the glamour and sassiness that the hotel enjoyed during it's early years.

Barbara Hulanicki who is well known for founding Biba clothing in the 1960's worked her magic over the entire property of the Kent.

She treated the hotel like the rock stars she had dressed in the past and gave the building an entirely fresh and funky look. From the minute guests step into the lobby they will have a glimmer of what the Kent is all about. Fun items such as silver beanbags, Lucite and colorful cubed furniture, Front Lobby at the Kent brushed steel ceiling fans, and disco balls can be found throughout the hotel.
